I follow Alok on Instagram where they share glamour shots of themself, along with mini essays that get me all teared up, like this recent one on body hair…

Alok also shares book reports that investigate and eplore Queerness – and on a platform like they have on Instagram, these get the word out to thousands of folks! This one, on The Racial History of Gender Nonconformity, a book report on “Re-Dressing America’s Frontier Past” by Dr. Peter Boag, was liked by more than 15,000 folks so far.

And maybe most impressive of all, Alok writes regular notes to their haters – and they’re eloquent, and kind, and so full of love. As Alok writes in the comment on this post, ”wishing all of my haters a happy august! love is the antidote to fear”

I’m delighted to amplify and spread the word: Alok is a remarkable human being, and I’m grateful for their light in our world.
