You know when you hear a really great, in-depth interview, like Terry Gross on Fresh Air, and you think – wow, that interviewer asks really great questions. I just had that experience this weekend, when I was interviewed for the “Harvey Brownstone Interviews” podcast.
Harvey was the first openly Gay judge in Canada, and here’s a cool fact: when gay and lesbian marriage was legalized in Canada in 2003, Harvey was “the only judge to make himself publicly available to officiate at weddings for lesbian and gay couples traveling to Toronto from all over the world to get married.” Now he’s started a new career, and his show is fascinating.
The interviews are done as both podcasts and videos, and you watch my interview with Harvey here. You can also subscribe to the show’s YouTube channel right under the YouTube video window.
I hope you’ll give it a listen – it was fun to talk about “Queer as a Five-Dollar Bill,” “No Way, They Were Gay?“, the power of knowing our LGBTQ history, how adults can support LGBTQ youth, and so much more. Harvey aims to inspire, educate, comfort, and entertain his audiences, and I think our interview did all four.
Here’s the link to listen to the interview as a podcast.
The light in me recognizes and acknowledges the light in you,
Lee
